2011 Ford Mustang gets New 305hp V6 Engine HD Song: Da Youngstas - Verbal Glock instrumental Enjoy & Comment! Ford will be using a new, all-aluminum V6 engine for the base Ford Mustang, the company announced today. The engine is not only more powerful than the previous unit, but should also provide better fuel economy. The company will use a 3.7-liter, 24-valve Duratec engine that produces 305-horsepower and up to 380 ft-lb of torque. This is a huge power improvement over the 210-hp 4.0-liter V6 used on the 2010 model year, despite the current unit having a larger displacement. This prompts obvious questions about what Ford will unveil for the Mustang GT. The aluminum engine is only 5-hp shy of the V8 engine used on the 2010 Mustang GT. This car marks a new type of Mustang, said Mustang engineer chief David Pericak. Were using a high-performance quad-cam V-6 with all the bells and whistles in a car thats become legendary for its handling and roadholding; its really going to get a lot of new sports coupe fans excited about Mustang, some for the first time ever. Ford will pair the engine with a six-speed manual gearbox and short-throw shifter, with a hill-assist automatic transmission also available. Fuel economy with the manual is rated at 18mpg city, 29mpg highway, a slight improvement over the 18/26 figure on the 2010 MY. The real improvement is seen with the automatic, which gets 30mpg on the highway, a 25% gain over the outgoing model. New customers will also notice improvements in the chassis, springs, and damper tuning for better handling. A limited-slip differential will also come standard. Expect more information on the 2011 Ford Mustang GT to come down the pipeline in December.

@mirlin235 yeah i remember the some of my firends on design talkking about it, but yeah send me he site if you can im curious
@ADD8oi Actually I read somewhere online, a few months ago that the Rangers future was changing, and that the company(Ford) wanted a slightly bigger pickup, just to off set the size of the F150 Now this was a few monhts ago, so I might be wrong, but they said at the end of 2011, into 2012 would be the last year of the Ranger, with a new truck being brought in, I'll try to find the site for you Also believe it or not, ford almost made a Diesel version of the F150, almost happened in 2003 to 05
@mirlin235 no real talks have been made upon the replacement of the ranger line, i mean i heard a couple guys from design talking about concepts on a new small pickup but nothing concrete
@ADD8oi Dude the Ranger Is being replaced Fords thinking about bringing the classic F100 back, cause people want something bigger than a Ranger, but small the than a F150, so thats what they are thinking about doing
needs better suspension and better handling
@robotmonkey73 and replace with carbon fiber!
Sick beat, sick car, sick style
Damn sexy car.
pinches pendejadas de la jente pendejaa
@PeterbiltEmzie They're both actually 160 on the dash, but yes, the 5.0 is pretty fast.
@CarbineGuy Dang. I bet the V8 is 180-200? I bet the V8 hauls ass.
@PeterbiltEmzie Pretty sure that's V6.
The v6 is registered for 160 or is that the v8? Because if thats the v6 I can just imagine how much ass the v8 will haul.

Whats the name of the song?
Oh yeah, it's soo much better to get the V6 and pay 2,000 for turbocharger, it'll have a little less HP than the V8 but will be so much lighter it won't even matter.
@Danboy5050 Is that why when a turbo 4 cyclinder engine was the main engine in a cobra for 2 years? Was that missing 4 cylinders then? And a muscle car is just a big hp engine in a smallish car, I think that this fits that category.
@gunzkevin No it dont its missing two more pistons
@teo2369 yeah, but at least it looks good. look at honda, toyota, nissan and GM if you want to see lame
plactic cars! LAME!!
no the SHO is a 3.5 liter V6 bi-turbo 365 hp
Is it the same engine that is currently in the Taurus SHO?
its kinda funny but the V6 is actually a better looking car than the GT its front facia, is more likened to the original Retro concept car. I would also dare to say You just might be better off getting the V6 with modifications (ie. supercharger twin turbo) because this car is much lighter with the v6 than the GT. sure the GT would out perform ya with the same mods, but aside from extra power, the lightweight v6 would be just as fun minus the extra cost, (plus better mpg)
I know and understand the arguments about Plastics, BUT least we not forget, ALL CARS HAVE PLASTICS, the problem *was* that ford was using very cheap noisy and brittle plastics. Thats no longer the case with the new mustang. A combination of better stronger plastics as well as rubbers and materials make the mustangs interior that which is should be. Keep in mind even a Porsche or ferrari use plastics, but the surfaces are covered in leather.
@jeepman787 they cancelled a huge amount of employee pensions and layed off thousands of people after they took their bailout money and gave it in bonuses to the corporate employees, and now GM is getting rid of half of their branch off companies, like saturn, pontiac, and another one i think, its kinda funny how after all these auto bailouts Ford didnt take one and they are doing perfectly fine, and this new mustang is going to make them even better
